Specialises in theatrical circus, flow art and cabaret performances primarily suiting a nautical theme or fantasy concept, Michael Speranza provides engaging shows where audiences can laugh, feel inspired and be taken on a voyage without having to leave their seats.

Often referred to as “Pirateman” from Perth WA, Michael was notoriously seen from 2011 to 2021, regularly appearing at festivals, cabaret shows and community/corporate events from Esperance to Exmouth, Gascoyne to Geraldton, Kununurra to Kalgoorlie and quite literally everywhere in between! Now he has moved to Sydney, NSW, going by the alias “Speranza Starburner” or just Michael. Either way, he is here to bring you joy, glee and magic from the seven seas!

Here are just a few of the shows and services Michael can provide:

    • Stage shows: Can be the solo non-verbal family-friendly circus show “ARRR is for Adventure, or the duo show of circus, music and children’s games “The Cephalopoddities” with his Fantabulous Fish Friend.
    • Fire shows: An extravagant display of skill, danger and silliness! Fire performances are 15 minutes of progressively challenging fire tricks, including juggling, spinning, and fire eating.
    • LED/Glow shows: A hypnotic and mesmerising light show including spinning, juggling, magic and a few customised surprises!
    • Roving entertainment: A range of wandering talents and tricks as different roving characters.
    • Pirate art/craft workshops: Take-home upcycling craft for the kids. Ranging from pirate fantasy-based themes. Children learn the values of how one man’s trash is another pirate’s treasure!
    • Circus workshops: With these workshops, they can learn how to do some of the tricks they see Michael perform.
    • Kids pirate parties:  With workshops, storytelling/puppetry, fun pirate games and more surprises, Pirateman will turn your child into a swashbuckling buccaneer in a matter of moments!
    • Cabaret acts: 3-5 minute acts ranging from fire, contact juggling, and LED spinning! For corporate events, fringe-related festivals and adult audiences.
